Resembling a small, hand-held box instead of a horn, this alchemical gadget consists of a rectangular brass resignation chamber fitted with a series of five pipes. The pipes are of varying size, and constructed of a variety of alchemical treated metals. The high pitched sounds of a beast horn are geared for the sensitive ears of animals and are inaudible to most humanoids. A skilled player of a beast horn can use the gadget to handle and push animals from a distance without visual cues or spoken commands. Animals (and any other creature with sensitive hearing, at the GM’s discretion) can hear the beast horn up to 1 mile away. Proper use of a beast horn requires skilled practice. Because of this, all attempts to handle or push an animal using a beast horn requires the user to makes Handle Animal or Perform (wind instruments) skill check, whichever has less ranks.
A beast horn may also be used to gain a +2 alchemical bonus when making wild empathy checks.
